Praise the Lord!
So, this is going to be a super quick post. Today is an AMAZINGLY busy day for me. I had a meeting at work from 6:20-9 then I had to drive home and head back to work from 12-7. Owen and I had to wake up at 5am to get ready and go to the meeting. We are both exhausted and I am DEF not looking forward to heading into work. I would rather be taking a nap with owen.
Anywho- I am completely off track. Here is some Good, Great, amazing, spectacular news!!!! I want to start by saying that God is so good and Blesses us more then we could ever imagine. Two things happened yesterday. First, Jonathan got the switch that we have been waiting for. Starting April 1st (hopefully this isn't an aprils fools joke) he will be working Mon- Fri 7am-4pm!! Woohoo... no more nights and no more weekends. Tons more family time! Praise God!
Secondly, I decided to put out a few more resumes. It was kind of a last minute deal, because I couldnt get my printer working, so on our way to the library I dropped off 3 resumes. The last place I stopped, gave me an interview on the spot! They really liked me and set me up with a working interview this upcoming Tuesday from 7:30-10:30. If I get the job, I will be working Tues and Thurs from 8-5 and then in a few weeks they will be adding on wed 8-5. AMAZING! This is exactly what I have been wanting and praying for.
Please continue to pray for us. I feel like things are falling into place the way we wanted them to, but Ultimately, It is Gods will that we are seeking. I was talking with my best friend and she said something to me that I LOVED, so Ill share it with you (hope you don't mind Deanna) She said "He wants us to be happy and wants to give us the desires of our hearts, so if this isn't it he must have a better place!" How many times I forget, that God truely wants me to be happy and wants to give me my desires, but when I dont get what I want, it might be because he has something so much better in store for me!

Been a while
Boy, time flies. Especially when you are sick! We all ended up getting a nasty 24 hour flu. Thank Heavens that is over with. We are all feeling much better now. Thank you all for your prayers.
I thought I would have more time to write a blog, because I gave up facebook, but it seems I have been super busy in other ways. Mostly work ;o)
Jonathan and I have been reading a book called "Crazy Love". Its an excellent Christian book, but it has really convicted us to put our focus more On Christ and less on our desires. We both decided to give up something that we felt was taking time away from God and our family. I am giving up facebook for a week and Jonathan is giving up TV and Video Games.
I have already enjoyed this a lot! I didn't realize how much time I spent at the computer, looking at what other people were doing, when I had plenty to do at my home. It was very distracting. Granted this is only day 2 of the facebook fasting and I'm sure it will be hard for me, but its kind of refreshing as well!
Big news in the Potty world!!! Last night I decided to invest in a little potty for Owen. I had first bought him one of those seat covers, but I think the idea of him sitting so high up on the toilet, made him feel scared. We bought him a "Cars" potty (of course) and even though Cars is his favorite thing, he was still afraid to sit on it. So we did what any parent would do and bribed him with M&M's. We gave him one for sitting on the toilet (even though he had all his clothes on) then we gave him one for sitting on it with his pants down and then FINALLY he was comfortable enough (or hungry for more M&M's) and took off his diaper. That was as far as we got last night and I didn't want to push him to much, so it was a HUGE surprise this morning when he asked about his potty. His diaper was already full and needed changed, but I told him I would give him an M&M if he sat on it. so he did and we read a book together. I put on a new diaper for him and he went running off. I went back in the bathroom 5 min later and realized that during that short time, he had actually peed in the potty!!! I was ecstatic!! I went running over to him and gave him a high five and said mommy was proud of him for peeing in the potty :o) I couldn't believe I didn't hear him peeing!!! He was excited too. When Jonathan woke up this afternoon, Owen told him that he peed in his potty :o) how cute! I love him!!!

Sick Family :o(
Well, Yesterday, Owen was doing much better! I think that he had the 24 hour bug or something he ate didn't sit well with him, because he woke up on Sunday in an excellent mood and no effects of sickness. On Monday, I had off from work, so we decided to take a trip to the library. Owen LOVED it!! I tried posting pictures but for some reason I can't get them from my phone to the computer. I can't believe this is the first time I have taken Owen to the library around here. It is about 10 min away and it was fabulous! Tons of books and movies, a kid play area with a large wooden boat for kids to climb in and a bunch of puzzles. We picked up both books and movies. Owen was excited to read about a fire truck when we got home. He makes this funny siren noise.
Now that Owen is feeling better, I thought we were over the bug. Jonathan came home from work at 6am. I don't know if he has what Owen has or if he has something different, but please pray for him. He was up til 7:30am throwing up and had the shivers. Poor guy is supposed to go back to work tonight. He can't just call off from work, he has to have a doctors excuse, so If he is still sick by the time he has to head into work, he has to drive to the base, go to the hospital and get an excuse. Not the kinda thing you want to do when you don't feel well.
Owen got up around the time Jonathan was laying down so I got up with Owen and as I was walking around the house, I started feeling queasy. When I am sitting or laying down I am fine, but when I'm moving around a lot, I feel like I'm going to get sick. I'm hungry for breakfast, but afraid to eat because I don't want to end up like Jonathan did this morning. Luckily, I have off from work until Thursday.
Yesterday, I dropped off about 7 resumes. This one office I went into was AMAZING!!! It looked like a spa resort, not a dental office. Boy would I LOVE to work there!!! Anywho.. praying I get a new job soon.
I'll keep you all posted.
Here is a video I took of Owen the other day. He had a "Coin" that he found in Mommy's purse and was loving throwing it around and playing with it. Its the littlest things that amuse him haha. I love towards the end how he bends so far over and has his arm behind him to throw the coin.

Poor Litte Owen :o(
Poor Little Owen got sick last night. I hate seeing him sick. He has the biggest puppy dog eyes and when he wakes up sick in the middle of the night they look so sleepy. He just looked miserable.
He started throwing up around 1am (luckily we were up watching a movie and I heard him crying) So of course, I got him all cleaned up, bathed and his blankets and sheets changed and with in min he threw up again :o( Poor mommy, poor baby. We sat on the couch for a little bit and he was cuddling with me. I love those moments when the only thing that makes him feel better is to cuddle. He is so precious!
He ended up making it through the rest of the night with out any more incidence. This morning, I woke up to a very lively little boy that is bouncing off the walls. It makes me wonder if he ate something that didnt sit well with him last night. He has no fever, no other side effects and is completely back to normal. :o)
Besides Mommy and Daddy, Owens 2 other loves of his life are his blanket and doggy. He takes these 2 things with him everywhere he goes and sleeps with them every night. It would be a nightmare if we ever lost either of these 2 items!!! So, after getting sick, we had to put him to bed without them. This morning he woke up and wanted his blanket and doggy. He went running into the laundry room and almost pulled them out of the dirty basket when I stopped him. (Thank heavens!!! I didn't want to clean up that mess) I explained to Owen that we needed to get them cleaned up. Soooo for the last 25 min, Owen has been sitting in front of the washing machine watching his dog and blankets spin around (We have a front loading washer, so you can see everything- good entertainment). Every time it looks like its stopping, he starts yelling "ALL DONE!" and then it starts spinning again and he sits down patiently. I have a feeling when the washer is done, I will be having a hard time getting everything into the dryer. Some little boy, might be walking around with a wet blanket!

Prayer Request
The hours that Jonathan works has always been a hardship for me. Let me try to explain.
Jonathan works 12 hour shifts. He is currently working nights, 6pm-6am. Every 3 months he switches from nights to days, so starting in April he will be back to days, 6am-6pm, and then 3 months he will switch back to nights.
Along with the long hours, he works a panama style shift. This means the first week he works 24 hours and the second week he works 60 hours.
First week- Mon,Tues-off, Wed-6-6, Thurs-6-6, Fri, Sat, Sun-off (I love these weeks)
Second week- Mon-6-6, Tues-6-6, Wed and Thurs-off, Fri-6-6, Sat- 6-6, Sun- 6-6 (I hate these weeks!)
Having a little one and working myself is always a challange because Jonathans schedule is NEVER the same. every week it changes and every 3 months it changes even more. Kinda crazy. Needless to say, we have been blessed with an amazing babysitter who works around our schedule with us.
Jonathan came home last night with some good news. He was told that it is almost 80% certain that they are going to perminentlty move him to a regular day shift. Mon- Fri 7am-4pm. WOOHOOO. This is music to my ears. Every weekend off together and a steady schedule!
I am super excited, but nothing is set in stone yet, so if you all could be praying for this decision! We are hoping to know soon and it looks like it would be put into effect by April1 (unless they are trying to pull a april fools joke on us) ;o)
Another prayer request, I will be sending out more resumes on Monday. I am not happy with where I work, but also with my hours. If Jonathan gets moved to days (7-4) and my hours are 12-7. I usually dont get home til 8-8:30 at night, so we wont be seeing much of each other 3 days a week. I'm not complaining because this will still be better then where we are at, BUT if i get a new job with regular hours- 8-5. Jonathan and I will have the same schedule (first time ever for this!!)
Here is a little video of how Owen helps me out in the mornings. One of his favorite things to do is feed Talon. (Of course, after he gets Talon food, he DEMANDS that Talon eat it haha)

Buddy man and a BIG decision stuff ;o)
For all those out there wondering what happened to my first love... here he is.
This just so happens to be the look I get every night while checking my emails and stuff on the computer. This look means, "Please Please Please give me a treat". Regardless of the fact that I had just given him 2 treats a few minutes prior to this picture being taken. It never stops him from begging. The good thing about this picture is, you cant hear him making that whimper sound that he has perfected so well. Its extremely cute <Said with Sarcasm> Maybe I will take a video instead of a picture next time, so that you get the full effect!!!
So here is a BIG family update. We have decided to stay in the military. Jonathan will be reenlisting for 4 more years. We both have really been wanting to get out of the military and move closer to family, but the reality of that matter is, that it would be much smarter for our family financially to stay in for four more years.
That was all I was going to post tonight, but I got a phone call from my uncle BEGGING and PLEADING for more videos of Owen ;o) Here is a video from when we went to the park yesterday (pictures to follow)

Two New Videos
I have two new Videos of Owen.
This first one is not very good, but if he knows that I have my camera on, then he doesn't act the same. haha- smart little boy. So, I had to be sneaky and try to hold my camera where he wouldn't see it. ;o) Usually our bedtime routine has been to get tucked into bed, read a book, saying our prayers and kiss goodnight. Recently, Owen has been requesting to say prayers instead of mommy and daddy praying. Here is a clip of Owen praying before bedtime.
(Just in case you can't hear what he is saying really well, He says, "Thank you for mommy, thank you for daddy, thank you for blanket, thank you for owen, thank you for doggy, thank you for food. AMEN"
Here is the second video. I have been trying to get Owen to do different things in the morning instead of just wanting to watch "Cars". So, I bought him these building blocks. I saw them and instantly loved them, because they reminded me of wooden blocks that my grandma Geitgey used to have at her house. I remember having so much fun, playing with those. Owen seems to like them just as much as I did and apparently, this is helping him build his fine motor, gross motor and cognitive skills :o) That's what the website said ;o)
I couldnt believe how high he got the blocks and how balanced he was!!!! GREAT JOB OWEN!

Starting over again..
So, I have tried this blogging thing a few different times and it has never quite worked out for me. I've done the crafting blog and Ive done the running blog, but Now I think I might dabble in a little bit of "Family" blogging.
I made "family blogging" up, so if your wondering what I'm talking about, let me explain. :o) Being married to a man in the military, you never know where you may be living. Near or Far. Here or There. And because of this being away from my family is probably one of the hardest things. Facebook and Skype have made life a lot easier to keep in touch, but sometimes I feel like I am bombarding my friends on facebook with a MILLION pictures and videos of my sweet little boy Owen. I love showing off things that he is accomplishing, but honestly, I post them more for our family to see, since they all live long distances away.
Another reason blogging will be good, I still have family that aren't on facebook. So, in hopes of keeping everyone updated on how life is treating us and what we are up to, I think I will start blogging about my family.
On that note, Today is the one year anniversary of when Jonathan and I eloped. We were discussing the events of the day and Jonathan was amazed at how much I remembered. It was kinda hard to forget, I had A LOT of life changing events occurring on the same day.
On Feb 26, 2010, I had a working job interview from 8-11. I raced back home, got dressed and at 2pm went with Jonathan and Owen to the court house in Prince Georges County Maryland to Elope. That evening, I got a phone call from the dentist office I interviewed at and got my position that I am at today. A few days later we traveled to Orlando Florida to celebrate our marriage and have our first family vacation together.
It seems like just yesterday, I cant believe the amazing journey we have had over this past year! We are truly blessed.
